While I was visiting Berlin I was able to see Royal Republic rocking live inside a telephone booth. The event was presented by a local radio station. Besides the four band members a hearer was inside the box to experience the littlest concert ever.

So all that remained was taking some pictures and listening to that hilarious song again and again.

It was my second trip to Hamburg. I like this city a lot. I like standing at the riverbank and watching the big ships and I like the wind blowing around my nose. Since I did all the sightseeing during the first time, I had enough time to stroll around or just sit at Strand Pauli and have a beer in the sun.

But there was one thing I had to do.. and this was going back to «Miniatur Wunderland». I am not particularly interested in model railroad but this installation is so different. It is made with so much passion for detail and it is a pure joy to discover all the details. Everything has a reason and is part of a little story. I spent hours there and I am absolutely positive that I missed again more that I can imagine. If you ever will be in Hamburg a visit there is very advisable.

The show was great. The audience was abuzz, and obviously the girls rejoiced in performing their songs, too. They radiated so much joy.
Every song is different and so are the instruments. Some of them, like the balalaika, I had never seen before. The girls were brilliant, none of them was fixated on a certain instrument and there was a big interchange.

I stood right in front of the stage, so I could take a few photos. I put them on my flickr-stream. Enjoy!

After breakfast I went to the car and yippie, there was only snow on the windscreen and no ice. Hence I could go to work without scratching! The song on the radio must have told the truth!

But inside the car the reality caught up with me.. the tank was empty and I had to drive to the gas station. I hate nothing  more than driving there in the morning because that means a detour. At the gas pump I remembered that due to an error in the central locking system the doors and also the gas cap don’t function properly. I couldn’t open it and so I quit fueling and went back home to catch my husband. Actually I intended to ride with him but as if by magic the central locking system was working now.

Back at the gas station all pumps were occupied. I chose one and the next problem occured. The woman in front of me couldn’t restart her car. Well, I drove backwards to the adjacent pump. While I was busy the woman asked me if I could help her to push away the car. Of course. When I was finished with refueling I walked around the pump, slipped on a snow rest and fell hard on my side. Ouch. The woman was a bit concerned but I bobbed up and helped her with the car.

When I finally arrived at work I had my cheerfulness back and fortunately the rest of the day spared me more surprises.

This song ist part of «Y.», the newest album of Bebe, a singer and actress from Spain. I received that album as a birthday present and I have to say that I  just love it. I love it since the very first time I heard it. The songs on it are very different and her voice is just great. *sigh* I wished my Spanish would be better…

@zucker blipped this song today and I remembered myself to the song immediately. I could even remember the video; Captain Sensible with his red hat. When this song was a hit there was no MTV, no VIVA and no youtube. We watched music videos in the weekly show Formel Eins. After  ZDF-Hitparade this was a little revolution! I didn’t know anymore when it was a hit and so I googled for it. The result is amazing. The song was popular in 1982!

It is interesting which songs were also popular. e.g. Gottlieb Wendehals with Polonäse Blankenese, Andy Borg with Adios Amor and Nicole won the Eurovision Song Contest with Ein bißchen Frieden (I spare you the songs :0)) Click for more… Further Michael Jackson published his album Thriller and the German bands «Die Ärzte» and «Die Toten Hosen» were founded.
