Ein braunes T-Shirt, der türkise Aufdruck klitzert sogar ein wenig. Super cool fand ich das. Das muss irgendwann Anfang dieses Jahrhunderts gewesen sein, wenn nicht sogar Ende des letzten. Ich trug es zu Rock oder Hose, untendrunter oder obendrauf; es passte einfach immer!
Als es in die Jahre gekommen war, begleitete es mich nach Vietnam und Indien, Ecuador, Costa Rica und Panama. Es überlebte alle Einsätze und alle Waschmittel dieser Welt.

Doch dieses Jahr wurde ihm zum Verhängnis. Ich trug es eines Morgens und schaute an mir herunter und dachte, da stimmt was nicht. Entweder war es zu kurz geworden oder ich länger? Alles Zupfen brachte nichts. Schweren Herzens gestand ich mir ein, es war offentsichtlich an der Zeit Abschied zu nehmen. So ging es auf seine letzte große Reise, über den Atlantik, durch den Wilden Westen und hängt nun da, in Escalante, Utah. Und wenn es niemand abgehängt hat, hängt es noch immer da.

It started snowing around 10 a.m. this morning and it went on and on and on until 3.30 p.m. in the afternoon. You can imagine what this meant for the traffic. All streets were mushy and icy and it was difficult to drive. But those conditions had one big advantage.. IKEA was nearly empty!

Poladroid

Nowadays where obviously everybody uses instagr.am or something like that, I was searching for a polaroid program which can be used with a pc. So I found poladroid . It is a nice and absolutely surprising little program that allows you to create a polaroid from a photo. Of course, a lot of programs can do this, but the way how poladroid works delighted me!

Just drag & drop a picture and wait until it is developed.. and you can really see how the colors appear and get more intensive. Just like in good old days! Curious about the result? It is here.

Because I have the run of the house this weekend I am looking for nice stuff to do. One topic of my to-do-list is the beautification of the pc-area. Therefore I found this drawing, a perfect template for a little wall painting. Photos are coming later ;)

Die Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft in Südafrika ist vorbei und ich freue mich über den 3. Platz, den unsere Jungs belegt haben. Sie haben ganz nach dem Motto “mit dem Herz in der Hand und der Leidenschaft im Bein” wunderbaren Fußball gezeigt.
Das Spiel gegen Argentininen war das beste das ich je von unserer Nationalelf gesehen habe. Nach drei Minuten fiel das erste Tor und mein Blutdruck stieg auf 170 und das soll was heißen. Im weiteren Spielverlauf hatte ich heiß und kalt zu gleich; Gänsehaut zierte meine Arme, die Füße waren kalt und ich war klatschnaß geschwitzt.

Die Kader-Auswahl von Jogi Löw war außergewöhnlich und sehr mutig. Der Torschützenkönig der Bundesliga musste zu Hause bleiben, dafür standen viele junge Spieler auf dem Platz . Die Verletzungssorgen im Vorfeld wurden einfach weggespielt. Die Kapitänsfrage wurde hervorragend gelöst (who the fuck is Ballack?).

Diese junge Mannschaft begeisterte mit ihrer Unbekümmertheit und glänzte mit einem technisch hervorragenden Fußball. Wenn auch das Halbfinale verloren ging, darf die Mannschaft doch mit stolzgeschwellter Brust nach Hause zurückkommen. Ihr wart klasse!!

Silence

It was a bit silent on my blog here lately. One reason was definitely the World Championship in South Africa. No, I haven’t been there by myself, but I was very busy with watching a lot of matches. In the preliminary round, where 3 matches a day took place, was hardly enough time doing anything else.
But of course there was always anything else to do, e.g. painting the garden fence. Our fence is an old-style lattice fence and we have a phrase that this work is for somebody who has struck his parents dead. (Of course I didn’t do this and I would never do this, because I love them.) I guess it took about 15 hours to get this work done. That’s a lot, but it was worth every brush stroke.

One other reason for the absence here might be the discovery of posterous. Sometimes I have something in my mind.. too much for twitter and too little for the blog; the photos too petty for flickr but more than a snapshot on twitpic. Well, yes, sometimes it is really a hard life :P

WM2010 – Germany vs Serbia

Well.. the German national team lost its match against Serbia today.
Right after the match I found this broken glass of Serbian bean salad on a supermarket parking lot. Was it pure intention or just an unhappy coincidence?

Blue vs. Pink

I did some laundry today and as I hung out the washing on the line, I had a strange series of breaking clothes pins. They were all at the same age and were used equally. The only difference was the color. The pink ones are steadier than the others.

Instantly the following question came up to my mind:
«Does pink clothes pins live longer than blue ones?»

I’ve already asked this to the twitterworld and I got a feasible explanation. But what if I would compare this with the colors standing for the human race? Any ideas? ;)
