Abandoned buldings exert a special pull on me. Instantly, as I saw it for the first time, it was certain that I have to come back. We passed it on our way to Cuenca and I would have loved nothing better than going there immediately, but I had to wait. Eventually my patience got rewarded; on the way back we made a one night stop there.

I couldn’t get enough of taking photo’s, so there is a bunch on my flickr. Click!

New Project 365.

As you might already know, I have started a new project 365. First I did not want one anymore, but since I finally have my iPhone I take a lot of pictures anyway. The project has changed a little bit. All the photo’s are taken with the iPhone and after being altered with Instagram they find their way on my flickr as usual. So far it was not a big problem to find an idea each day and actually I do not expect anything else. It is a lot of fun :)

The smurfs are not dead.

Though I didn’t post any smurfs lately, it doesn’t mean that they are dead. Currently I am in week 25 and I still enjoy creating little stories. I am only lazy with my blog. No post in 2011 so far, what a shame!

Now it is a busy time for Santa Claus. So he is glad having such a reliable helper like Papa Smurf is. For him no roof is too high, no way to far and he will first stop when every child is happy.

Takashi Murakami @ Versailles

When I read about the Takashi Murakami exhibition at Versailles Castle, it was instantly clear that I have to go there. I love his kind of art so much. It is colorful, vivid and fancy; well.. it is japanese :)

Since Pairs is only a 2½ hour train ride away, we planned to visit the exhibition as a day trip. Actually a nice plan, but in the end it came out completely different.
There was already a delay of 20 minutes when we got on the train. Due to a technical defect we could not ride very fast, the delay increased and we even had to change the train at the next station. Eventually we arrived in Paris two hours later than expected.
Finally there, a bitch tried to pick my pocket while I was entering a local train. But fortuntately she was not successful and nothing except a couple of minutes was lost.
After spending some lovely hours at the exhibition we went back to the station and surprise, surprise our train was cancelled. Since it was the last one for this day, we were stucked in Paris and had to wait until the following morning. At least we got a hotel room.

But all that trouble could not mar the nice time we had in Versailles. It was definitely worth the trip!

Due to very busy times I was delayed with the smurfs. Now I have fixed the mess and they will come regularly again. Well.. at least I hope so ;)

The little smurf is hardworking with the installation of the pipes. We can only hope that he doesn’t forget to leave himself an exit.

Gleefully whistling he passed the «Brandenburger Tor». After 42 km the little smurf is close to finish his marathon run. He is the last participant, so all the spectators have already vanished. But he doesn’t give a damn.. he feels like a champion!

Knowledge is his passion and he nearly knows everything. If you ask him a question, he will answer it patiently. But be careful! Though he ends always with "If I say so, then it is so", he is usually wrong.
