JFvsSR
06.02.2010, Wiesbaden, JFvsSR. It means «Jour Fitz vs. Stijlroyal» and it was the background for my first twitter-party.
I knew absolutely nothing about the event until I read it on twitter on Friday afternoon. But it made me instantly curious! I mean, since I am mostly the only person far and wide who uses twitter, this would be a nice opportunity to meet like-minded people in real life. What a wonderful imagination. I would be surrounded by people who all understand the magic of 140 characters. And if my twitter-friend @isdjan from Berlin doesn’t spare no effort to get there, the 90 km from my place to Wiesbaden should be a piece of cake for me. No sooner said than done!
I arrived shortly after 8 p.m. and the bar was already crowded and everybody was wearing a twittername-tag. I got mine also and went to the basement where the event took place.

It was quite cold there and I appreciated that I hadn’t found a wardrobe, so I could use my coat to warm myself. But the authors gave their best to let me forget about the cold. They all were brilliant. The most I liked was @silenttiffy’s tale about her migration in Germany. It was the third chapter of the book she is currently writing and it is a pity that I missed the first and the second. I will keep my fingers crossed for her that she will be able to publish it some day.
The evening ended with talking to nice guys and I am pretty sure that this was not my last twitter-party.
