नमस्ते
Namaste, is the only Hindi word I know. But this won’t stop me from going to India a second time. After visiting the northern part last time, our first destination now is Kolkata. After staying there for two days we are going to visit Varanasi again, the sacred city at the river Ganga.

Varanasi is dirty, noisy and always busy. People get there to die. It is actually the best place for Hindus to die, because their dead bodies will be incinerated at the ghat and the ash will be thrown in the river. In fact in the same river where local people wash their clothes, their dishes or themselves. The latter is particularly desirable because thereby the sins will be washed away.
The next destination is Khajuraho with its erotic temples. Getting there is easy. It is just a 30 minutes flight from Varanasi. The harder part will be getting away again to Goa. We had the choice between a 3-stop-flight with a total duration of more than 25 hours or a never-ending train ride of 36 hours; not to forget a 5 hours bus trip to reach the station. Well.. we chose the bus-train option and this means I am going to spend my whole birthday inside the train. Provided that we get tickets. We are still on the waiting list…
India is an adventure. Not only when you are there, also during the preparations. But I am sure.. in the end everything will be fine :)
I’ll try to keep you updated but I am also looking forward to my online-break. So don’t expect too much :)

when are you leaving?
