Live and Ticking
As I already mentioned in my last blog post, I went out to see «Die drei ???» live on stage. I was curious how it would be, I had no idea at all. Now I know more :)
The event was in the SAP Arena in Mannheim and I was amazed how many people went there and how enthusiastic they were.
It is hard to describe how it was. Actually only a radio play but the speaker acted also like actors. They expressed with gestures or actions what they were talking about. The noisemaker did his job also live and I was impressed that there was only one single man needed to do all the noises. Moreover there were two men, responsible for the music, a few supporting actors and the story teller.
The performance took more than 2½ hours including a 20-min-break. If you ask me it was definitely too much. It was nice to see how a radio play is made but after the first half I had enough. Besides the dry air in the arena made my eyes burning like hell and I was afraid to close them. (… because radio plays always make me sleepy ;))
I liked the three investigators in my childhood but the enthusiastic mood during the performance did not slop over me. My conclusion of the evening was, that it is better to keep the old heroes where they are to avoid to get disappointed.
